Should we do a scenic float in the GTNP vice out?

I am wondering if the scenery on the float trips out of the Park are any different than in the park. We wanted to do white water and combine it with a float. We looked in Dave Hansen whitewater because they have a good combo deal. However, the scenic float part is outside of the park. Any thoughts? Would we be making a mistake not to float through the GTNP?

Thanks for any recommendations.

We used Barker-Ewing for our in park float trip in June 2007 and we loved it. We got to see beautiful scenery, wildlife and the Tetons as background- wouldn%26#39;t do it any other way!!

I have heard great things about Barker-Ewing. My kids really want to go white water rafting and I really would like the best views. It sounds as if they are in the park and it makes sense to take a raft trip through the park vice outside of it just to include white water. Thanks for your recommendations.

We did a float trip in the park. Don%26#39;t remember the name of our outfitter, but their pick up was at Signal Mountain Lodge. Simply breathtaking.

But everything there is breathtaking if you haven%26#39;t been there before. I%26#39;m guessing you would love the combined float trip that starts outside of the park too. The scenery should be close to the same, we talked about it with our guide said he liked that part of the river just as much, but you might miss some of the wildlife that seek the safety of the park.

We were probably lucky, but we saw moose, eagle, pronghorn, beaver, muskrat, mule deer and elk all on our floattrip alone. Of course you will see elk everywhere.
