We%26#39;re planning to do a 2-hour float trip with Solitude in mid-June and wondering whether the 9:30 or the 1:30 trip would be better? Does anyone have any thoughts? I assume it will be warmer mid-day but will we see more wildlife in the morning?
Thanks for any advice!
Best time of day for a float trip?
We did ours in the afternoon after arriving in the park. It was great fun, though we didn%26#39;t see a lot of wildlife. Mornings are better for that.

If you want to take pictures, morning is definitely better. It is also better for siting wildlife, as previously noted. Enjoy!
Mornings!!! Hands down.
Mornings or evening. We did ours in the evening and saw lots of wildlife. We used Solitude as well...great outfit, you will enjoy!
I made reservations with them for the 18th of June for 9:30. Figured it was a better time for seeing wildlife as well.
Actually 9:30 is getting rather late to see much unless it is a cool day. Most animals, just like us, like to take it easy and not work up a sweat during the heat of the day. So, if you see them, it is just lounging around back in the shadows. Best chance to see them out in the open is still earlier.
Thanks to all for the input. As it turns out, we%26#39;re booked for the 1:30 trip because it fits a lot better with the rest of our schedule. As we%26#39;ll be in YNP for 4 nights and will be up early, I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll have lots of opportunities to see wildlife. Can%26#39;t wait!
