I just booked Snake River Lodge for three nights in September. I have a few questions. Will we be able to see any leaves turn during mid September? Is Teton Village boring in terms of shops and walking around? Is it far from Jackson? I am hoping that the village is a good place to take in the mountains and stay in a nice hotel and relax but be able to wander around and see the Grand Tetons National Park and have a few good meals. Would I be better off in town?
How far is Teton Village from Jackson
Teton Village is about 18 miles from Jackson Hole. Teton Village is mainly a place where you have a lot of hotels but not shopping and dining like Jackson Hole. Teton Village is really popular in the ski season.

From reading your previous post, where you expressed a desire to be close to shopping and restaurants (ie within walking distance), particularly the Wort Hotel, I would agree with the replies you originally received suggesting that Jackson Hole itself would be a better place for you to stay.
There is certainly much more to see and do in Jackson itself, especially if you won%26#39;t have a car.
They have recently renovated the Snake River Lodge, it%26#39;s beautiful. You are really going to enjoy it. Make sure you have dinner at Il Villagio Osteria, best restaurant in Teton Village, maybe the valley. Although, Steigler%26#39;s Bar %26amp; Restaurant is pretty special, I%26#39;ve never had a bad meal there. Did I say it%26#39;s special.
At the base of the gondola is the shop for the paragliding, at least take the gondola up the mountain for the view. Nearby, next to the Alpenhof Lodge they give lessons for fly fishing. Do you have plans to hike around Jenny Lake, just beautiful?
Not sure if the quaking apsen leaves are ready to turn color or not in September, definitely Oct. Fairly high elevation, mostly pine trees.
You will want to have breakfast at the lodge, but try to get to the Mangy Moose for at least lunch.
I%26#39;m sure you will get in to Jackson Hole to check out the shopping around the square, it%26#39;s a pretty drive.
Are you going to visit Yellowstone?
There is a shuttle between Jackson and Teton Village, if you don%26#39;t have a car.
It%26#39;s about a 15 min. drive between downtown Jackson and Teton Village. There are a few restaurants in Teton Village, and you can still walk around the area and look at all of the resorts. The SRL has pretty good food itself, both at the restaurant and at the bar (different menus). It%26#39;s nice to stay in Teton Village, but also to spend some time in Jackson each day. You%26#39;ll get a good feel for both and be able to experience the best of both worlds!
