Wyoming Territorial Prison

Is the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site worth a visit? We will be in Laramie overnight and were thinking of stopping by there the next morning before we leave.

Wyoming Territorial Prison

Probably worth it most if you like history. This prison more so for Butch Cassidy having been there than, say, the Frontier Prison at Rawlins. The Rawlins prison has the added focus on the gas chamber and the water gallows, as well a grusome punishments.

The Territorial prison at Laramie also has a display of homestead cabins and a restored school. It opens at 9am so might not be an option if leaving Laramie early, allow at least an hour. Entrance fee is $5 adults, $2.50 teens, 11 %26amp; under free. Parts of the site are still being developed and restored so full access to particular parts may be limited.
