Advice on RV sites for Yellowstone area

We are planning a trip in mid May and need advice on RV sites in the area.Would it be better to camp near Jackson area or Cody Area?

Advice on RV sites for Yellowstone area

No. No, you really want to be closer to the park. West Yellowstone has RV camping area as does Yellowstone park. If you want full hookups, the only campground inside the park that has them is Fishing Bridge. If you can do without the hookups, then Madison or Canyon would be good and Grant Village is another option. Cody and Jackson are too far for daily travel to the park.

Please reference the national park website to see what facilities are open in mid-May. That is still late winter or very early spring at that lattitude/altitude.

What about staying in Wapiti?

Why not inside the park at Trailer Village? Also there are a number of rv parks in West Yellowstone that will have you much closer to the park.

I don%26#39;t know how many days you plan on staying in the area, but if it is more than a couple days, then I would also try to get down to Grand Teton National Park and into Jackson. May is a great time to see the park...the views of the mountains around the valley are incredible with all the snow and it is very easy to get around the park without the crowds. Jackson is only about 15 minutes from the Town Square. The is an RV park in town called the Virginian. There is also a nice KOA campground on the Snake River.
