This morning Xanterra says there is no availability at any of the lodgings for any of August. I am presuming that this means they haven%26#39;t opened it up for booking yet.
When can I anticipate being able to book for that time frame?

Booking Yellowstone for August 2010Here%26#39;s what you need, Barbara. I%26#39;d call them as soon as reservations are accepted to get the lodging you prefer, rather than rely on the website, as that is not always current.

Xanterra starts accepting reservations 12 months out - before then the website does show ';no availability';. So check back with them in August and you should have better luck.
I agree about calling rather depending on the website info though.

They%26#39;ll start taking reservations for next summer on May 1. So, to book a trip for Aug 2010, you could book on May 1, 2009. Just a few days away;-). For what it%26#39;s worth, I just switched a few days for my trip THIS August (late Aug), and there was still plenty of accomadations to chose from.
