Kayak - is it worth dragging it from WI ?

Hi All,

Could anyone recommend a place where I could rent a kayak for a few days and use it on Jackson and Leigh lakes?

I%26#39;ll be driving from Wisconsin and not sure if dragging it from here is worth it, especially if I%26#39;d like to use it just a few times.

Also, where would be the best places to paddle ?

THANKS A LOT !!!

Dornan%26#39;s is right inside the park at Moose. www.dornans.com We plan on renting a canoe and bikes from them. I%26#39;m sure they will have ideas of where to go.

Check this link for more ideas and other places to rent from. www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/boat.htm

I%26#39;d probably take mine on top of the SUV. I%26#39;d rather use mine than adjust to someone elses. I know I%26#39;m comfortable in mine. The only problem would be having room for the paddles, vests, etc.

We%26#39;ve seen kayaks in Lake Yellowstone near West Thumb too. Looked like a neat place too.

Because of the thermal features of Yellowstone Lake, it%26#39;s my understanding you must be with a guide. Not a good idea to just put in there! but I do know that they offer kayak tours during season. We were too late last September; they%26#39;d already shut down by mid-month.
