I have a few specific hiking trails I%26#39;d like to do when we go. How hard is it to find the trailheads? As you drive along the road, do they have signs pointing where they are, or do you need to know ahead of time which parking lot to pull into? Any trails that aren%26#39;t marked? I read somewhere that Mystic Falls is hard to find because there aren%26#39;t any signs pointing out the trial--is that true?
Thanks!
Kelly
Hiking trails well marked? Can you see them from the road?
Definitely bring your hiking guide with you - it will give you landmarks for those trails that aren%26#39;t well marked. Many are not marked from the road - especially not in advance. Also, use the map you get when you enter the Park - it will show where the main trails are located and will show the landmarks you%26#39;ll need for the others.
Mystic Falls is accessed from Biscuit Basin (in the Upper Geyser Basin). It%26#39;s not marked from the road, but as you go around the boardwalk, you%26#39;ll come to a sign for it - not real obvious, but if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re watching for, you shouldn%26#39;t have any trouble.
Have fun!

To give you a heads up on the map that will be given to you at the gate so you know what it has on it and give you time to look it over, you can look at it online. The map can be panned (click and drag)to wherever you want details and zoomed in (double click or use the + on the top right) to make it easier to see details.
