I was wondering if there are any fireworks for July 4th in either Yellowstone or Grand Teton national parks.
Also, does any body have suggestions on a place to stay in Cooke City?
July 4th fireworks
Fireworks are illegal in the Natl. Parks because of the fire danger. There are usually fireworks as part of the celebrations in the gateway towns though.
Sorry, but I%26#39;m not familiar with the lodging in Cooke City - don%26#39;t think there are a lot of choices. Hopefully someone who has stayed there can help.
July 4th fireworks
We enjoyed, and laughed at, a funky, short, parade by Park volunteers and employees on July 4, at Lake Lodge, early evening, forget the time. I believe this is performed at other locations, but you can check when there. Your child would enjoy it.
West Yellowstone (at the West entrance) has a day of activities on the 4th from the Big Brothers and Big Sisters yard sales, Fireman%26#39;s Barbcue, ';Music in the Park'; and picnic in the evening, and fireworks at dusk. There are also fireworks along Hebgen Lake and a midnight fireworks show west of town.
There is also a small parade which is also home grown, but lots of fun. Anyone can participate for a nominal fee and we get many families on bikes or just walking together (the route is about a mile).
