Where is the best places to see wildlife in Yellowstone in July? Is it better in the morning or evening?

Thanks for you help.

Hayden and Lamar valleys are great spots. You will see buffalo any time of the day; for other wildlife, I had the best luck in the morning.

Agree with preceding. Both morning and evening are good times. However, you will see wildlife many places, most of the time, including along the road, so be observant, watch for movements and animals that blend into background, even close to you, check out the viewpoints, bring binoculars.

7:30 - 9:00 PM along river and creek meadows such as the Madison River between West Yellowstone and Madison Junction; also higher mountain valleys such as Gibbon Meadows, Elk Park, Hayden Valley, Lamar Valley, between Tower and Lamar Valley.

6:30 - 8:00 AM Grounds at Mammoth Hot Springs, roads along the road from Tower into Lamar, same areas as above, bears along Washburn Mountain, Dunraven Pass areas.

The hotter it is during the day, the more the wildlife will move at night. So far, it has been a cool spring.
