Need advice on Wagon Wheel, Bill Cody Ranch, and more.

Looking for opinions on Wagon Wheel, Bill Cody Ranch, Elephant Head Lodge, Green Creek Inn Cabins, Absaroka, Goff Creek Lodge, and Crossed Sabre Ranch.

We are narrowing down our search, unfortunately reservations are becoming scarce. Any opinions on the above would be helpful. Each option we are wanting a cabin rental.

Thanks!

Bill Cody Ranch

Need advice on Wagon Wheel, Bill Cody Ranch, and more.

Bill Cody Ranch is a wonderful place to stay and is located exactly in-between Cody and Yellowstone. Several other nice ranches in the area are Goff Creek Lodge and Elephant Head Lodge.

Cody and Old Faithful are about 120 miles apart. The speed limit in the park is 35 - 40 in most places. It is about 180 miles from Cody to Jackson (Jackson in on the other side of Grand Teton National Park).

There is a website at www.yellowstonecountry.org that lists all the things to do in and around Cody - and there are alot - and all the lodging.

Hope that helps!

This is from a previous post from one of the Cody experts.

Stage 1 complete, we picked Crossed Sabre for the first leg of the trip. Now it%26#39;s on to finding something near the Grand Tetons. It seems to be difficult to find cabin-type accomodations, most seen to be hotels and condos.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Reading your profile, apparently it%26#39;s just you and your significant other. If so, I suggest you use this trip for the National Park experience and let accommodations be secondary and stay, at least for YNP, inside the park or a neighboring community w/o seeking a cabin. Unless, of course, you need cooking facilities, but you have not said why a cabin is important.

Actually it will be my wife and my two boys 20 and 22 years old. We were hoping to find a place with enough room and one with cooking facilities. As I%26#39;m sure that you know, the young adults tend to eat like a small swarm of locusts...LOL. We thought that it would be an advantage to prepare a lunch for teh road and have late night snack facilities.

With both boys in College and one graduating soon, we%26#39;re thinking that this may be one of the last vacations that we can all take together. We actually asked them if they could go anywhere where would it be, and here we are.

Smile!!! Cannot argue your rationale.

Have you checked out VRBO.com (Vacation Rental by Owner)?

Forgot to add, do bring or buy, when at YNP, a large cooler as you travel through YNP. This will help avoid running off to dine when the scenes are worth staying for. (cheap styrofoam is fine)

Both of the following Inside Pages provide more than you wanted to know, but will enhance the YNP experience.
