Hi,
I am planning for a trip from PHX to YellowStone. I can see many entrances, and confused about planning my trip about Flight Destinations, Stay and which places to view..
Also, when is the best time to visit it?
PHX to YellowStone
Late spring to mid fall. Yellowstone is busiest in the summer months but has decent weather. September would be great (plus you can get out of some of the heat of Phoenix). Lodging books quickly so you will have to see if you can find lodging for this year.
Closest airports are Billings, Bozeman, Jackson.
Visit www.nps.gov/grca for tons of information.
PHX to YellowStone
Casa was right on the money ... up to the link for the Grand Canyon???
You might try www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit if you%26#39;re heading to Yellowstone.... ;-)
Then come back with any specific questions and someone will be happy to help.
As for flights... Jackson and Bozeman would leave you with the least amount of driving after landing. In addition some folks use Salt Lake City, and even Denver. Salt lake City leaves you with a five hour drive, and Denver would leave you between 8 and 9 hours, or about half as much driving as you would have if you drove all the way from PHX. During the summer there is also limited commercial air service into West Yellowstone, MT. right outside the west gate to the park. Jackson is a good in and out airport, but the town is really too far south to make a good base for visiting YNP. Bozeman is great as well, with about an hour and a half very easy, scenic drive into either the north or west entrances.
Oh geez! So sorry about the wrong link, thanks for catching that. Can%26#39;t tell I%26#39;m reading for school to be done, only 20 more teaching days left, lol!
Ready, not reading, lol! Seems Saturday%26#39;s aren%26#39;t much better!
