We%26#39;re planning a trip to Yellowstone the first week in September 2009 and wanted to know if this was a good time of year to go? We thought it would be a good idea being that school would be back in session and traffic will hopefully have died down. However, we are wondering if the leaves will be changing this early and if the chances of seeing wildlife will be good.
We are now only beginning to schedule our trip and are curious if we are leaving ourselves enough time to make decent accomodations to stay in the parks. We will be alotting ourselves 7 or 8 days and would also like to see the Tetons as well. Is this enough time?
Thanks in advance for any input.
YNP in Sept
This is a great time to visit. Family trips will be over, but there will still be people in the park. Wildlife yes, aspens probably not that early.
Plan 5 days in YS and 2 days in Tetons.
YNP in Sept
I agree with Casa- spend 4-5 days in YNP and 2 days in the GT. Enjoy your trip.
