air travel to Yellowstone

where is the best and least expensive place(s) to fly into to go Yellowstone other than Jackson Hole which seems very expensive?

If you are near a Southwest airlines airport then you can get good deals to fly into Salt Lake City. That is what we are doing in July.

The closest airports are all smaller regional ones - and therefore more expensive since there aren%26#39;t direct flights. You might check out Bozeman and Billings MT.

Your other options, which will be cheaper but will require more driving are Salt Lake City (about a 6 hr drive to YNP) and Denver (about 9-10 hours).

Thank you so much for the info. I will check those out! Have fun while there.

I was checking those same things this time last year for our trip this year. From Philadelphia, the flights into Billings/Bozeman were pretty close in price. The rental car prices are what clinched it for me - we picked Bozeman and got a rental car quote for @$215.00 for 11 days w/unlimited mileage. Of course, the taxes, etc. will go up, but the base price should not change.

I used the below site for ';codes'; for the rental. Even if you%26#39;re not traveling to Florida or Disney World, there are several that can be used anywhere. Thanks to this site, I was able to was able to get a good deal on a car.

Good luck with your decision and have a wonderful time!
