My wife and I are visiting the Park in June. Flying from Raleigh, NC. Not sure which airport to fly into and where to stay?
Which Airport and Hotel.
Well, you are quite late in planning for this June trip, but we can help.
Will you be lodging inside or outside the park? I prefer inside, for the park experience, proximity to the many areas, reduced driving in and out, etc.
Lodging in the park varies in style and amenities, so you have to read the following, about the official park lodging company:
Official Lodging and Tour vendor for Yellowstone National Park (Call them frequently, cancellations occur.)

Many of us are so into the park experience, and seeing the sights and wildlife from morning until night, all we need is a meal and a bed, regardless (sometimes) of rusticity.
West Yellowstone offers much lodging, most of which will be better than YNP lodging, except for the park%26#39;s Western Cabins. You sacrifice to stay in the park - no TV or pool. Which, frankly, you might not care about once at the Park.
Questions for you ---
How many days will you be in YNP?
Do you like to hike? Walk?
Photography?
Wildlife viewing?
What are your priorities?
Time in the park will depend, considering how vast it is.
This National Park website contains a lot of very good information. http://www.nps.gov/yell/
Which Airport and Hotel.
As voyaging has said, it is rather late to be getting lodging inside the Park (my preference too) for June. I would suggest that you call Xanterra for availability - they will be able to give you more current updates than is available online. The most centrally located areas are Canyon and Lake, but if you choose to stay in the Park, location may depend on where there are openings.
Outside the Park, the towns of West Yellowstone and Gardiner are the most convenient for daily commuting.
Where you choose to fly into will depend on how much driving you%26#39;re willing to do as a trade-off for a lower fare. Many people fly into either Denver (a 9-10 hour drive) or Salt Lake City (5-6 hours). There are airports at Bozeman and Billings MT and Jackson Hole WY that will bring you much closer. Also, West Yellowstone has a small seasonal airport.
Good Luck - and please come back with any further questions.
Here%26#39;s some planning information we put together to help people with their first Yellowstone visit(s).

I like flying into Jackson Hole. Driving north through the Tetons is spectacular.
Listen to the other folks and try to get reservations now. Don%26#39;t be afraid to stay in more than one location.
Ideally, fly into Jackson, rent a car and drive up to Yellowstone. Stay in a couple of places to cut down on backtracking, though if you must settle for one in-the-park lodging, take it. We like Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge. The Mammoth cabins are basic but just fine for a night or two. Canyon has some good lodging, too. Better get on the phone to Xanterra today. I%26#39;d allow a couple of days for Jackson/Grand Teton NP as well. Jackson Lake Lodge is great if you can get in.
If you can fly Southwest airlines they have a good deal to SLC. Otherwise Delta flys into Jackson. I would call Xanterra and see if they have in park reservations otherwise try to stay in either West Yellowstone or Gardiner and Jackson. We like West Yellowstone for choice of lodging and restaurants but Gardiner is good for northern part of YNP. Spend at least a night in Jackson and enjoy the Grand Tetons. Enjoy your trip.
United flies into Jackson from Denver. We just got back from a quickie trip. Stayed in Teton Village. It takes about an hour to get to Yellowstone--but this was with few people. I imagine traffic gets pretty bad later on, not sure about June. Teton Village and Jackson have lots of lodging for exploring TNP and the southern parts of Yellowstone if you cannot find places in the park.
Last year in early September we flew into Bozeman Airport from Denver and rented a car at the airport. The airport is small and everthing is right here.We drove into Gardiner and made a stop at Manmouth Hotel and than to our room at Canyon Village. They are very basic rooms but you walk out of the room in the morning and the Bison are justing walking around and eating. We stayed in a Western Cabin which was okay for the location. We were only 10 minutes from Haydan Valley were you will see hundreds of bison, elk, coyotes.
I prefer the Jackson airport as well. The tetons are alway worth seeing and the airport is right in Grand Teton NP. Cody has a nice little airport as well, and the drive from Cody to the east enterance of YNP is about an hour. This is also a beautiful drive - stop at the damn - you can walk out onto it for free and it has a nice little visitor center.
We are flying into SLC in June...wanted to see SLC. Previously we flew Delta to Jackson as someone mentioned. There was a direct flight from Atlanta I think.
