YNP in 2 days - Drive Beartooth?

I know the YNP area very well, as I used to live out there. I am taking my boyfriend there for the first time and we only have 2 days with one night at Old Faithful to see the park. Quick vist, I know! We will be driving up from Jackson. He wants me to be able to see something new as well .. and about the only thing in the area I have not done is the drive from Tower Junction to Beartooth pass. This seems like a long way... is it doable in half a day, and what else is there to see along that route? Should I even bother considering this crazy idea?

Your BF is an altruistic guy. Take care of him :)

No, don%26#39;t do it, its more than a half day drive (130 miles to and fro) with the stops and you%26#39;ll be doing a lot of backtracking. Save the trip to your honeymoon and stay Red Lodge for the night.

I agree with Tet. With only 2 days limit your sightseeing to the park.

A question- are you flying in and out of Jackson or are you driving from Wisconsin? If you are driving which way do you plan on driving home? If you can drive home on I94, going over the pass is a possibility.

We are flying. I am normally a roadtrip kinda gal, but we have the kind of jobs that rarely give us more than a long weekend off. So we are flying into Jackson, and will spend Friday night in Jackson, Sat at Old Faithful Inn and Sunday night back in Jackson, flying out Monday. Crazy weekend trip, but it is the way we often have to travel. Maybe next time we will have to fly into MT and visit Red Lodge.
